Vets with Pets W.I.S.H. Program

Helping Veterans and pets stay together, where they belong. Charlie, the rescue pup, started visiting community members back in 2019. They would share stories about how much they loved their animals, but sadly, many of them had to give up their cherished companions due to financial, health or caregiving reasons. Our W.I.S.H. is to not let this happen any longer in Mahoning County. Your support can help make that wish come true!
WHAT THE PROGRAM DOES:

Wellness: Covers vet care, vaccinations, medication, and nutritional support for pets of Veterans on fixed incomes.

Independence: Delivers food, medicine, and pet care supplies to homebound Veterans, promoting health and emotional well-being.

Shuttle: Operates vehicles that transport pets to and from vet or grooming appointments and deliver medications.

Housing: Provides temporary foster care for pets when owners are hospitalized or displaced, and permanent care when needed.
TO APPLY:
ALL REFERRALS MUST GO THROUGH A REFERRING AGENCY OR ANIMAL CHARITY STAFF MEMBER. The W.I.S.H. Program (Wellness, Independence, Shuttle, Housing) helps seniors, veterans, and other individuals with qualifying needs stay united with their companion animals by Animal Charity of Ohio Programs providing essential care and resources.
Please note that you do agree that this is just a referral and not commitment, but we will do our absolute best to fit all needs from our donor community.
