Meet and greets are available by appointment only. Please do not call or leave voicemails regarding adoption. The Animal Charity of Ohio Adoption Process is below! Due to the nature of our work, this process ensures the absolute best for the animals in our care and gives our team time to review applications and schedule meet and greets in a timely manner. ADOPTION PROCESS:
Fill out our online application.
Our team thoroughly reviews each application.
Once your application is APPROVED, our Adoption Coordinators will REACH OUT TO YOU and schedule you to meet the incredible animals we have up for adoption! You can NOT meet any of the animals until this time.
All pets are fully vaccinated, microchipped and spayed or neutered before the adoption is finalized.
SENIOR CITIZENS If you are a senior citizen please discuss the Senior-to-Senior Program with your adoption coordinator. For senior citizens looking to add a furry friend to their home we have an excellent program. Any senior over the age of 60 can adopt any senior dog for $60 and any senior cat for $30. In addition to that, the annual vaccines for these pets are provided at no cost to the adopter (office visit fee will be adopters responsibility). Email [email protected] for more information. DONOT EMAIL TO SCHEDULE MEET AND GREETS. We will call you once your application is approved.

Our coordinators review each application and make sure that your application is approved before contacting you to schedule a meeting with dogs/cats.
ALL animals in the applicant's home must be spayed or neutered in order to adopt from Animal Charity of Ohio. This is part of our mission to control pet population. We also require that all animals currently in the home are up to date on vaccinations. Your application will not be approved unless this criteria is met.
We are always here as a resource if you need any assistance or advice regarding your new addition from Animal Charity- whether it be training, proper handling, or any behavior issues that may need addressed. We do not permit future adopters to use shock collars or any extreme methods of correcting on our animals. Many animals come from backgrounds where they were not given the opportunity to thrive so it’s important to be patient and treat them with patience and love.
The animals in our care come from the worst of the worst situations. Abuse, neglect, abandonment. Our staff works diligently to rehabilitate each animal who enters our doors- We show them love and affection, help them trust, and search for the perfect forever home for them. Your transparency on applications is pertinent in making sure the animal is perfect for your home and that you are a good fit for them. We want their next home to be their last!
Thank you for choosing to ADOPT! We hope to help find the perfect addition to your family!
