Our Board of Directors

Our 2022 Board of Directors
Shelly Marlowe
My name is Shelly Marlowe. I joined the Board of Directors for Animal Charity of Ohio in 2019. My husband and I have 2 daughters and recently adopted a sweet pup named Larry whose mom was rescued by Animal Charity's Humane Agent! I received my Bachelor's degree in Business Marketing and Administration from Youngstown State University in 2009 and am Co-President of the nonprofit organization Project MKC. I began volunteering as a dog walker for Animal Charity in the summer of 2019 and quickly fell in love with the work they do- along with the animals, of course. Animals have always been my passion and falling into this industry has been a blessing- we are the voice of the voiceless and are working towards a bigger and better future for Animal Charity.

Joe Messuri- Board Secretary
My name is Joe Messuri and I joined the Board of Directors in 2019. In addition to my work at the Animal Charity of Ohio, I am also a trial attorney. I have my own practice with an office in Youngstown, Ohio where I focus on criminal defense, family law, and civil litigation. I have a Golden Retriever named Scarlett and a Tabby cat named Wendell, who are best friends. Scarlett and Wendell love to chase eachother around the house, and Scarlett likes to go on playgrounds and go down the slides when we go on walks! I graduated from Canfield High School in Canfield, Ohio, and went on to double major in Political Science and Sociology from The Ohio State University. I then got my Juris Doctor from the University of Akron School of Law.

 Jake Gebhart- Board Treasurer
My name is Jake Gebhart and I joined the Board of Directors in 2018. In addition to my work at the Animal Charity of Ohio, I also am a manager at Hill, Barth & King LLC. I have an English Bulldog named Thad and a Miniature Dachshund named Bailey. In my spare time I take Thad and Bailey for walks and chase them around the yard. Thad actually loves to go for car rides in our old Saturn Ion too! I graduated from Mohawk High School in New Castle, Pennsylvania and went on to double major in Accounting and Finance at Youngstown State University.

Chris Anderson
My name is Christopher Anderson and I joined the Board of Directors in 2019. In addition to my work at the Animal Charity Humane Society, I am the Digital Marketing Director at Sweeney Chevrolet, Buick GMC. I have two Pitbulls named Wilbur and Claire and we love to go on walks at Mill Creek Metro Parks. I graduated from Hubbard High School, in Hubbard Ohio, and went on to graduate with both my BSBA and MBA from Youngstown State University.

Kristin Demidovich
My name is Kristin "Kiki" Demidovich. I joined the Board of Directors for Animal Charity of Ohio in 2021. I moved back to Ohio in 2018 and I started working with my father, who started a medical company in the 90's that focuses on Long Term Care, Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living medical care. One of the wishes we continuously heard from our residents was to have visits from a pet or they wish they had a pet in their community. In 2019, we partnered with Animal Charity to start the Senior program - HCP Wishes, where we take senior dogs from Animal Charity to local senior communities. Weekly visits were bright highlights - giving both the residents and rescue pups joy and hope! Through this program we started going weekly to over 10 communities (following health guidelines) and have placed more than 20 dogs into furever families. We even had multiple sweet seniors find their furever homes in local Assisted Living Communities.

Sarah Chill
My name is Sarah Chill. I joined the Board of Directors for Animal Charity of Ohio in 2017. In addition to my work at the Animal Charity of Ohio, I am the Director of Educational Services at Siffrin, where I help people with disabilities prepare for and find employment. I oversee job coaches that are spread between seven counties as well as an internship program at Aultman Hospital in Canton and multiple Siffrin Academy’s that focus on pre-employment housed inside Kent State University Stark and Trumbull.  I have two rescue pit bull named Claire and Winston. I graduated from Youngstown State Univeristy with a Bachelor’s in Media communication, a Master’s in Interdisciplinary Communication, and a Master’s in Business Administration. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, crocheting, snuggling my dogs, and spending time with my family.

Kelli Catullo
Hi there! My name is Kelli Catullo. I join Animal Charity in 2022 with over ten years of experience in the nonprofit professional world. From hands on help to network development, I believe strongly in giving back and helping those that need it most in our communities. I enjoy teaching my children the same. Mom of three boys, Antonio, Luch and Tank; who just so happens to be a foster failure from Animal Charity himself. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from The University of Mount Union (go Purple Raiders) and am co-owner of The Beauty Boutique Clothing, located here in Boardman. I am honored to join the Animal Charity team to help give voice to the voiceless in our community. I’d love for you to join us in whatever way you can, as well!

Jenny Falvey
My name is Jenny Falvey and I joined the Board of Directors in 2022. In addition to my work at Animal Charity of Ohio, I am also the owner of Dogsmartz Unleashed, a positive reinforcement dog training facility. I am a Certified Canine Behavior Consultant (CBCC-KA), Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), Certified Victoria Stillwell Trainer (VSPDT) and Fear Free Certified Trainer. I am also a mentor and faculty advisor for Victoria Stillwell Academy for Dog Training and volunteer member of the ASPCA’s Anti-Cruelty Behavior Team. Shelter dogs (especially fearful ones) have been a passion of mine since I began my career, 30+ years ago and one of my greatest joys is to rehabilitate these dogs so they can find loving homes. Rescue dogs rock in my world! My home is shared with six rescue dogs, including a very special one, Stuart who was saved by Animal Charity.

Lisa Resnick
After a brief stint in campaign politics following her graduation from Youngstown State University, Lisa began her real estate career on the commercial side at Lowe Enterprises working in acquisitions, asset management, development, and leasing for large scale retail and office developments in the Washington, D.C. metro area. It was here where she gained an insider’s perspective working directly with developers, localities, and executives to ensure they found the right business occupant(s) to help meet their goal of creating desirable locations. Lisa then transitioned to residential real estate in the Washington D.C. region, where over a 6-year period she was a top performer within her brokerage.

Even with her successes in the metro area, Lisa saw all the progress being made in her hometown (Mahoning County) and wanted to be part of the positive change. In 2016 Lisa and her family made the move back to the Mahoning Valley and in 2018 joined Burgan Real Estate, immediately becoming one of the top producers.  A true advocate for our area, her career successes were accompanied by successes in the community, launching initiatives such as “Walk Youngstown,” which seeks to grow the downtown area by making it more walkable and attractive for residents to experience all it has to offer, “Homes & Hops,” a podcast and video series highlighting our great local breweries, small businesses and the positive impacts they have on their surrounding neighborhoods. Now she is the Managing Broker for Burgan Friedkin Commercial Group and sits on/manages the board for the Oh Wow Science Center. She is also a 2020 Athena Award Nominee. Lisa also founded Dandelion-Inc, a social media marketing agency focused on connecting and uplifting women as individuals and in business.
